The nature and origin of the manuscript have long remained a mystery. Over the years, the Voynich manuscript has caused a lot of controversy and debate. This ancient medieval text is a cryptic document written by an unknown author.

Many skilled cryptographers have studied the document. Their attempts to break the code failed. Up to now, none of them has been able to crack the code.

It is worth mentioning that at the end of WWII the U.S. military passed some spare time encrypting ancient texts. They managed to decipher every text except the Voynich manuscript.

Does the Voynich manuscript really contain a message?

Are we unable to break the mysterious code?

Is the book a deliberate hoax?

Is it an encoded version of a known language or a totally invented language?

A new study, published in the journal Plos One, suggests that the manuscript holds a genuine message.

"While the text written on medieval parchment - using an unknown script system - shows basic statistical patterns that bear resemblance to those from real languages, there are features that suggested to some researches that the manuscript was a forgery intended as a hoax," researchers explain in their paper.

The manuscript was named after Wilfrid M. Voynich, a Polish-American book dealer who found this manuscript in a chest in the Jesuit College at the Villa Mondragone, in Frascati in 1912.

He bought it from the Jesuits, and gave photographic copies to a number of experts to have it deciphered. None of them succeeded. Certain features in the illustrations, such as hairstyles for example, suggested that the book was produced between 1470 and 1500.

But by whom and why?

Inside the manuscript, which is 240 pages long, there was a 17th century letter, written by Johannes Marcus Marci of Cronland, a Bohemian doctor and scientist, rector of the University of Prague, and official physician to the Holy Roman Emperors.

The paper dated 1666, was addressed to Athanasius Kircher, a 17th-century German Jesuit scholar and informed that the manuscript was bought by Emperor Rudolph II in 1586.

During the 1600s, some scholars attempted to decipher the script. Then the mysterious manuscript disappeared for 250 years before Voynich discovered it.

Voynich was also eager to learn more about his new remarkable finding, but establishing the origin of the book and deciphering the code, was a much more complex task than he anticipated.

Dr Marcelo Montemurro, a theoretical physicist from the University of Manchester, UK, and his colleagues say that that the "manuscript presents a complex organization in the distribution of words that is compatible with those found in real language sequences."

We are also able to extract some of the most significant semantic word-networks in the text. These results together with some previously known statistical features of the Voynich manuscript, give support to the presence of a genuine message inside the book."

Dr Montemurro and his team used a computerised statistical method to analyse the text and focused on patterns of how the words were arranged in order to extract meaningful content-bearing words.

"There is substantial evidence that content-bearing words tend to occur in a clustered pattern, where they are required as part of the specific information being written," he explains.

"Over long spans of texts, words leave a statistical signature about their use. When the topic shifts, other words are needed.

"The semantic networks we obtained clearly show that related words tend to share structure similarities. This also happens to a certain degree in real languages."

Dr Montemurro argues that the hoax hypothesis cannot possibly explain the semantic patterns he has discovered. He believes it unlikely that these features were simply "incorporated" into the text to make a hoax more realistic, as most of the required academic knowledge of these structures did not exist at the time the Voynich manuscript was created.

"While the mystery of origins and meaning of the text still remain to be solved, the accumulated evidence about organization at different levels, limits severely the scope of the hoax hypothesis and suggests the presence of a genuine linguistic structure," scientists say in their paper.

Those who believe in the authenticity of the Voynich manuscript maintain that the script is far too complex to be a hoax. Skeptics on the other hand, suggest that the failure of the code breaking indicates there might be no code to decipher and no hidden message.

There is also a possibility that the manuscript is not a code, but rather an unidentified language and of course, as usual it is very convenient to dismiss certain uncomfortable findings as hoaxes simply because we do not understand their origin and meaning.

When Worlds Divide

This question of a coming divergent world, a just one that separates in some way from the wicked one we’re currently embroiled in, has been with us for some time. We are watching parallel phenomena of violent, threatening darkness pounding at our doorstep while a simultaneous absolutely awe-inspiring and empowering awakening is taking place around the globe. These are being contrasted before our hearts and minds as we each deal with these incoming realities at many levels.

As we know, they cannot contain our awakening no matter what draconian measures they try.

The dark Powers that have cleverly slipped into place can kill, maim and destroy to their wicked hearts’ content but it doesn’t do a thing. That glorious fact is a reality that has been carefully kept “behind the veil” of mass human awareness for eons, even though every living soul senses otherwise. Awake and aware consciousness and those daring to live there have known this all along.

What we call bravery in the face of their onslaughts is this very simple understanding. It’s a knowledge and conviction that we are eternal and indestructible and have a firm grip on the reality that the Truth for which we live is unshakeable. Living by that simple steadfast knowledge and proactively helping to manifest it in others is called being alive.

That’s the definition of true freedom.

Growing Into Realizations – Screw Escapism

I’m not a fatalist in the sense that everything is predetermined. That is purely a programmed shut down mechanism to the degree anyone adopts that mental paralysis. Complicated, arrogant, philosophical gobbledygook such as that has been the stifling academic controlling answer for all of the non-already-religiously-programmed subjects.

Same old mechanism. Get ‘em from both sides.

We are very much alive, gloriously free willed entities in this wonderful cosmic fabric and are intrinsically connected together with the infinite creative Source. It couldn’t be more wonderful, profound or simple. Just like your heart has told you all along.

I find myself chewing on this question of where humanity is going quite a bit, not even consciously, but it’s always there as I attempt to “grok” the events in the world around me and the vast body of knowledge and esoterica at our fingertips. It’s totally cool. I wouldn’t have it any other way. There is no greater purpose in life as far as I am concerned than to keep growing in understanding and empowering awareness and helping others to do the same.

From a new, enlightened perspective is the only way we can achieve the loving intentions we share for this planet…and beyond.

The Wheat and the Tares

This parable always struck me and it is apparently full on appropriate for today. We may not know who came here scattering their evils seeds but one thing for sure, over time we will see “who is who” when the plants grow to maturity. Which is clearly happening now.

    “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared.

    “The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’

    “‘An enemy did this,’ he replied.

    “The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’

    “‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’”

The powerful statement of this parable is how the plants have to grow up together to find this out.  Is this what we are experiencing now in a very profound cycle of distended time?

Clearly the mimicking parasitic weeds are sucking the good nutrients out of the soil that nourishes the good plants. No doubt they’re good talkers, persuading their neighbors how needed they are in the community – in fact, “we should rule over you and help take care of things”.

Ever notice how fast and tall weeds grow, and in the most unlikely places? And how much they can mimic the plants they’re killing? And they DO kill off young sprouts if you don’t catch them. Crowding them out, sucking up the water and minerals.

Sound familiar?

The usurpers at work. They were hidden, but are now being exposed to a growing swathe of humanity. All part of the division.

Light vs Dark – A Cycle of Change

However you conceive of or phrase the paradigm we’re living in, what we are engaged in here is a struggle and it is a form of warfare. While it has become obvious even in this age of exploitation, as you become more spiritual you find this to be true and ever present in life changing ways. As said many times, religion and phony spirituality buries this reality in dogma, ritual, fearful obeisance and hierarchy.

They know, therefore they conceal.

It doesn’t matter to what extent we realize the depths of their perfidy, once we realize we have a very real enemy of bodies and souls it’s time to take action. By each of us manifesting the light that is within us via acts of Love and Truth we increase the conscious energy field. When we affect others to do the same, and wake others out of slumber and they turn pass it on, it grows exponentially.

This has been a battle throughout history, but my contention is that this time around something different and much more dramatic is taking place.

It has everything to do with communication. Knowing there are so many others who know, who are connecting, who are compelled to share this experience, who have as a result changed the course of their lives to do so more effectively, is absolutely empowering. And motivating. We want to care for each other, we are compelled, our compassion continues to grow until it’s uncontainable.

That’s all good.

The internet, designed by DARPA of all things, has been the key. Talk about backfiring!

The Cycles Tell the Tale

There’s hardly a religion, metaphysical school or spiritual science that doesn’t allude to cycles in some form or another. The question is, where in cosmic “history” and the cycles of time and creation are we? And do we need to know?

I know we do. Because we’re clearly being told. Our hearts are receiving and broadcasting this reality at massively increasing rates.

Why did the ancients track the stars so precisely? Why are the “gods” of ancient civilizations all cradled in astrotheology? Why is modern Luciferianism and even accepted religion steeped in astral symbology?

The cycles tell the tale.

We’re apparently at a point of division. For each of us individually this is ever present. As a society and a species, it seems we’re at a precipice. What we are witnessing in a spiritual sense is remarkable, and we need to be able to interpret it in its most positive sense, without losing the knowledge of the gravity of the geopolitical and spiritual realities.

They do all go together. And everything is empowering when taken in true conscious perspective.

  The Mysterious Connection Between Sirius and Human History

Since ancient times and across multiple civilizations, Sirius, the dog star, has been surrounded with a mysterious lore. Esoteric teachings of all ages have invariably attributed to Sirius a special status and the star’s importance in occult symbolism is an attestation of that fact. What makes Sirius so special? Is it simply due to the fact that it is the brightest star in the sky? Or is it also because humanity has an ancient, mysterious connection with it? Sirius is located in the constellation Canis Major – also known as the Big Dog – and is therefore known as the “dog star”. It is over twenty times brighter than our sun and is twice as massive. At night time, Sirius is the brightest star in the sky and its blue-white glare never failed to amaze star gazers since the dawn of time. No wonder Sirius has been revered by practically all civilizations. But is there more to Sirius than meets the eye?

Artifacts of ancient civilizations have revealed that Sirius was of a great importance in astronomy, mythology and occultism. Mystery schools consider it to be “sun behind the sun” and, therefore, the true source of our sun’s potency. If our sun’s warmth keeps the physical world alive, Sirius is considered to keep the spiritual world alive. It is the “real light” shining in the East, the spiritual light, where as the sun illuminates the physical world, which is considered to be a grand illusion.

Associating Sirius with the divine and even considering it as the home of humanity’s “great teachers” is not only embedded in the mythology of a few primitive civilizations: It is a widespread belief that has survived (and even intensified) to this day. We will look at the importance of Sirius in ancient times, analyze its prominence in secret societies and we will examine these esoteric concepts as they are translated in popular culture.

In Ancient Egypt, Sirius was regarded as the most important star in the sky. In fact, it was astronomically the foundation of the Egyptians’ entire religious system. It was revered as Sothis and was associated with Isis, the mother goddess of Egyptian mythology. Isis is the female aspect of the trinity formed by herself, Osiris and their son Horus. Ancient Egyptians held Sirius in such a high regard that most of their deities were associated, in some way or another, with the star. Anubis, the dog-headed god of death, had an obvious connection with the dog star and Toth-Hermes, the great teacher of humanity, was also esoterically connected with the star.

 The Egyptian calendar system was based on the heliacal rising of Sirius that occurred just before the annual flooding of the Nile during summer. The star’s celestial movement was also observed and revered by ancient Greeks, Sumerians, Babylonians and countless other civilizations. The star was therefore considered sacred and its apparition in the sky was accompanied with feasts and celebrations. The dog star heralded the coming of the hot and dry days of July and August, hence the popular term “the dog days of summer”.

Several occult researchers have claimed that the Great Pyramid of Giza was built in perfect alignment with the stars, especially Sirius. The light from these stars were said to be used in ceremonies of Egyptian Mysteries.

    “This ancient people (Egyptians) knew that once every year the Parent Sun is in line with the Dog Star. Therefore, the Great Pyramid was so constructed that, at this sacred moment, the light of the Dog Star fell upon the square “Stone of God” at the upper end of the Great Gallery, descending upon the head of the high priest, who received the Super Solar Force and sought through his own perfected Solar Body to transmit to other Initiates this added stimulation for the evolution of their Godhood. This then was the purpose of the “`Stone of God,’ whereon in the Ritual, Osiris sits to bestow upon him (the illuminate) the Atf crown or celestial light.” “North and South of that crown is love,” proclaims an Egyptian hymn. “And thus throughout the teaching of Egypt the visible light was but the shadow of the invisible Light; and in the wisdom of the ancient country the measures of Truth were the years of the Most High.

Vomit Drink

Caffeine-loaded black drinks apparently dominated the heartland of America earlier than once thought — a beverage neither coffee nor cola, but instead brewed from holly leaves, researchers say. Made from the roasted leaves of the Yaupon holly (Ilex vomitoria) that grew more than 300 miles away, researchers found evidence that inhabitants at Cahokia, "North America's first city," were enjoying caffeinated tea beverages some 700 to 900 years ago. Cahokia existed near the confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers from about 1050 to 1350 in what is now in St. Louis, East St. Louis and the surrounding five counties, and inspired short-lived settlements as far away as Wisconsin. The core of this society, Greater Cahokia, had as many as 50,000 residents in its heyday living amidst earthen mounds, some more than 100 feet (30 meters) in height, making it the largest prehistoric North American settlement north of Mexico.

The “black drink” was used by different groups for different purposes, but according to researchers it was a key component in a purification ritual before battle or other important events. The drink had as much as six times the amount of caffeine as a strong cup of coffee, which induced sweating. Quick consumption of the hot beverage allowed men to vomit, an important part of the purification ritual according to researchers.

The ancient people may have downed the brew before ritual vomiting as part of purification ceremonies, the scientists added. “We’re not sure when Native Americans stopped using black drink,” researcher Thomas Emerson, the director of the Illinois State Archaeological Survey, told LiveScience. “I think its use went more into the closet, due to pressure from Europeans to drop pagan practices.”

For many tribes of Native Americans, the black drink was a key component of purification rituals before war parties, religious ceremonies, important political councils or other important events. Rapid consumption of large quantities of the hot drink preceded ritual vomiting as part of the purification rituals. People in South America continue to make drinks from varieties of holly, such as yerba maté and té o' maté, albeit in more relaxed contexts.

"I would argue that it was the first pan-Indian city in North America, because there are both widespread contacts and emigrants," Emerson said. "The evidence from artifacts indicates that people from a broad region, what is now the Midwest and southeast U.S., were in contact with Cahokia. This is a level of population density, a level of political organization that has not been seen before in North America."

How this early city held together for as long as it did has remained a mystery.

War and shopping - an extremism that never speaks its name

Looking for a bookshop that was no longer there, I walked instead into a labyrinth designed as a trap. Leaving became an allusion, rather like Alice once she had stepped through the Looking Glass. Walls of glass curved into concentric circles as one "store" merged into another: Armani Exchange with Dinki Di Pies. Exits led to gauntlets of more "offers" and "exciting options". Seeking a guide, I bought a lousy pair of sunglasses: anything to get out. It was a vision of hell. It was a Westfield mega mall.

This happened in Sydney - where the Westfield empire began - in a "mall" not half as mega as the one that opened in Stratford, east London on 13 September 2011. "Everything" is here, reported the architectural critic Jonathan Glancey: from Apple to Primark, McDonalds's to KFC and Krispy Kreme. There is a cinema with 17 screens and "luxurious VIP seats", and a mega "luxury" bowling alley. Tracey Emin and Mary Portas lead the Westfield "cultural team". The biggest casino in the land will overlook a "24-hour lifestyle street" called The Arcade. This will be the only way into the 2012 Olympic Games for 10m people attending the athletics. The simple, grotesque message of "buy me, buy me" will be London's welcome to the world.

"If you've seen the Disney film Wall-E," wrote Glancey in 2008, "you'll certainly recognise Westfield and malls like it. In the film, humans who long ago abandoned the Earth they messed up through greed, live a supremely sedentary life shopping and eating. They are very tubby and have lost the use of their legs. Is this how we'll end up? Or will we plunge into the depths of some mammoth recession... with nothing and nowhere to spend?" In the less apocalyptic short term, Westfield is "a step towards our collective desire to undermine the life and culture of the traditional city, along with its architecture, and to shop and shop some more."

The original development plan for Stratford City evoked Barcelona: a grid of defined streets of shops and places to live.  Modern, civilised. Then the Olympics loomed and so did Westfield, a major corporate sponsor. The mega mall, the biggest in Europe, is built in the midst of grey tower blocks not far from where the recent riots occurred, its "designer" products, made mostly with cheap, regimented labour, beckon the indebted. That it stands on a site where London workers made trains - thousands of locomotives, carriages and goods wagons -in what was once called manufacturing is of melancholy interest. The mega mall's jobs produce nothing and are mostly low-paid. It is an emblem of extreme times.

Magic Mushrooms

No doubt with the wettest summer on record the annual mushroom harvest will be starting early…

The oldest representations of hallucinogenic mushrooms in the world are in The Sahara Desert. They were produced 7000-9000 years ago. The idea that the use of hallucinogens should be a source of inspiration for some forms of prehistoric rock art is not a new one. After a brief examination of instances of such art, this article intends to focus its attention on a group of rock paintings in the Sahara Desert, the works of pre-neolithic Early Gatherers, in which mushrooms effigies are represented repeatedly. The polychromic scenes of harvest, adoration and the offering of mushrooms, and large masked gods covered with mushrooms, not to mention other significant details, lead us to suppose we are dealing with an ancient hallucinogenic mushroom cult.

What is remarkable about these ethnomycological works, produced 7,000 - 9,000 years ago, is that they could indeed reflect the most ancient human culture as yet documented in which the ritual use of hallucinogenic mushrooms is explicitly represented. As the Fathers of modern ethno-mycology (and in particular R. Gordon Wasson) imagined, this Saharian testimony shows that the use of hallucinogens goes back to the Paleolithic Period and that their use always takes place within contexts and rituals of a mystico-religious nature.

“In Egyptian temples there are many pictures of gods/neters feeding humans the “ankh” cross/circle symbol which is said to represent the water of life and immortality. This also suggests the mushroom as it has been called “the Elixir of Immortality” and “the Fountain of Youth.” Pictures of winged Babylonian and Sumerian gods are often shown feeding pinecones to humans. Could these be reference to the pinecone-shaped pineal gland?

At the Vatican there is suspiciously a gigantic statue of a pinecone in the Vatican “Court of the Pinecone.” On the Pope’s staff there is also a pinecone depicted right at the height of his third-eye/pineal gland. Ancient Sumerian gods were always depicted feeding men pinecones, just as the Egyptian gods were so often depicted feeding men the “ankh.” Because of their seedless growth/germination pattern, mushrooms were considered “virgin-births” by the ancients. They believed the mushrooms arose from dew, the divine fluid that magically appears at dawn. They also correctly believed the Amanita to be the “fruit of the tree” and referred to them as such.

 “The mushroom caps are the fruit of the larger mycelium beneath the soil which exists in a symbiotic relationship with the roots of the tree. To ancient people, these mushrooms were literally ‘the fruit of the tree.’ Ancient peoples were amazed at how these magical mushrooms sprang from the earth without any visible seed. They considered this "virgin birth" to have been the result of the morning dew, which was seen as the semen of the deity. -Dana Larsen

Ancient Structures

 Thousands of Unknown Ancient Structures seen from Space

Thousands of huge ancient structures made of stone are clearly visible from the air.

Their age is estimated to thousands of years and their purpose remains unknown.

These puzzling wheel-shapes, and straight lines, stretch all the way from Syria to Saudi Arabia.

Some call this area the Middle East's own version of the Nazca Lines.

It is only recently, with help of satellite images that archaeologists have been able to explore this region in more detail.

Since the launch of Google Earth in 2005, archeologists have begun to use the satellite imagery publicly, particularly since its gradual incorporation, beginning in 2007, of high-resolution images. 

As a result, over some Arab countries-Jordan, Syria and Lebanon particularly-the resolution of available images is now generally high enough to conduct reliable, general archeological surveys.

The Shuway-mas site south of Hayil, Saudi Arabia, which is not even mentioned in the 1998 edition of the Cambridge Illustrated History of Prehistoric Art is the home of one of the four best collections of ancient rock art in the world. Here we find, numerous ancient stone kites, mounds, and tails.

In the Harrat Khaybar region of Saudi Arabia, however, "kites" take on entirely different shapes-most notably the "square pocket" and "barbed arrow"-and the low walls of many of them show ruler-straight lines, raising new questions for archeologists.

Some of these low walls of stone-many long known to archeologists inside Saudi Arabia-are newly visible from any computer in the world. The high-resolution image swaths reveal stunningly well-preserved evidence of widespread human activity in the distant past.

In the Al-Hayit region, keyhole and pendant shapes vary in size from a few meters to dozens of meters, and they are often found arranged along "avenues" that are invisible to builders of modern highways.

Who created these structures and for what purpose?

In the 1920's when British Royal Air Force pilots flew over the northern Harrat Harrah, they were struck by the numbers and variety of archeological remains visible in that rugged, thinly populated landscape.

In Jordan, there are similar structures visible from the air. The Bedouin say the structures and walls are "the works of the Old Men".

In the barren desert landscape, hundreds of kilometres from anywhere, there are thousands upon thousands of elaborate stone wheels, measuring up to 70 metres wide and visible only from the sky.

Remembrance

To help penetrate the all-pervading mists of the illusion, one must first acknowledge that consciousness is not the accidental and purposeless by-product of the human condition. The perceived world that we appear to be locked inside, like the silver ball in a pinball machine, is wholly a construct of consciousness. The pinball constructs the machine around itself. Whilst a testing notion for even the most elastic of modern philosophical minds, it has been known for aeons by the ancient mystical traditions and experienced directly by the indigenous shamanic cultures of every continent. Now, it is being evoked again as a progressive scientific theory in quantum physics. It is not new information we are bringing to mind, not by any means. It is better described as a remembrance.

About Druidism

My understanding of Druids is that they do not preach or evanglize and this is as it should be. Why is this so? I believe for a number of reasons. Not least because what is seen as Pagan and heretical can sometimes precipitate a negative reaction in a society that tends to regard the status quo as all important. At best Druids are seen as somewhat naive and eccentric, even dillusional. What possible effect can praising and revering the Goddess Danu have on the state of our rivers and seas..
